This discovery box brings together six oolong teas from across our range, each chosen to show a different expression of this endlessly varied style. Think of it as a gentle introduction to a world that sits somewhere between green and black tea, and yet feels completely separate from both.

Why Oolong tea is a bit different

To explain a little about how Oolong is processed makes it easier to understand the differences between Oolong Teas and Puer Teas.

Oolong is often described as semi-oxidised tea, but that technical definition doesn’t really explain its character. Green tea is quickly heated to stop oxidation; black tea is allowed to fully oxidise. Oolong sits in the middle, where timing, skill and experience shape the outcome.

During production, the leaves are carefully bruised, rested, rolled and re-fired in stages. Tiny changes in technique can transform the final flavour. This is why one oolong can taste fresh and floral, another creamy and buttery, and another warm and gently roasted with notes of honey or baked fruit.

It isn’t a single flavour profile. It’s a whole landscape that includes special, rare, handcrafted, charcoal-roasted, old-wild tree Oolong teas.
