Longjing (Dragon Well) Green Tea – Grade AA
Longjing, also known as Dragon Well, is one of China’s most celebrated green teas and has been treasured for centuries. Often referred to as the “Emperor’s Tea,” it has a long history of appreciation among tea lovers for its delicate flavour and distinctive character.
We just love this Green Tea, and we are so happy to have been able to get our hands on Grade AA for our tea friends.
Our Longjing Green Tea is harvested in early spring, when the young leaves are at their most tender and full of natural sweetness.
After picking, the leaves are traditionally pan-fired by hand in large woks. This careful process stops oxidation and gently shapes the leaves into their well-known flat, smooth form, while also helping to preserve their vibrant jade-green colour. It’s a craft that requires skill and patience, and it plays a big part in developing the tea’s signature flavour.
Once steeped, the liquor is pale and crystal clear, releasing a soft, chestnut-like aroma. On the palate, it’s smooth and rounded, with a light buttery texture and a natural sweetness that lingers pleasantly after each sip. The flavour is clean and balanced, making it a tea that’s both refreshing and comforting at the same time.
This is the kind of tea that suits slow mornings, quiet afternoons, or any moment where you want to take a short break and enjoy something simple and well-made. It’s gentle enough to drink regularly, yet refined enough to feel like a small daily ritual.
We’ve selected this high-grade tea because it represents the very best Dragon Well we’ve been able to source. It’s a tea we genuinely enjoy drinking ourselves, and one we’re proud to share. We hope it’s a tea you’ll come back to often, and that it finds a regular place in your daily routine.
