Yunnan Old Tree Sheng Puer – 8g Biscuit Raw Puer Tea
Pressed from the leaves of mature tea trees growing deep in the mountains of Yunnan, this Old Tree Sheng Puer delivers the bold, evolving character that raw puer lovers seek, now offered in a convenient 8g biscuit format. Each compact square is crafted from spring-picked leaves sourced from old-growth gardens, where the roots run deep and the flavours carry the imprint of age, altitude, and untamed landscape.
This tea is sheng, raw, vibrant, and alive. It hasn’t been mellowed through fermentation. Instead, it is naturally aged, slowly shifting over time from sharp energy to smooth complexity. These 8g biscuits are pressed by hand using traditional stone moulds, perfectly portioned for a full session, whether in Gongfu or Western-style brewing. The format preserves freshness while making it easy to travel, share, or brew without guesswork.
Upon steeping, the leaves open with bright vitality. The liquor is pale gold, slightly hazy with fine tea oils, and offers a nose of sun-warmed hay, pine, and dried fruit. The flavour begins with a green, herbaceous bite, brisk, slightly bitter, and mouth-watering, before softening into notes of dried apricot, wild honey, and cool minerality. The hui gan (returning sweetness) rises in the throat, lasting long after the cup is finished. With each infusion, the edge mellows and more depth is revealed, camphor, bamboo, and old bark, like a forest in late spring.
Made for those who enjoy raw puerh's clarity, structure, and living nature, this Old Tree Sheng is both stimulating and grounding, perfect for ageing or drinking now for its fresh, bright energy.
