Peach Oolong Tea Porridge, a fine way of using up used tea leaves!

It will not surprise you to learn that we make a lot of tea here at Great Tea, not just our personal usage, but for photo shoots, tea tastings and of course when we have visitors.
Our teas are fine, full-leaf teas, very high-quality, and whilst we can resteep, we also vacuum-seal our used tea leaves - with a view to finding ways to use them up.
So, why not use them in cooking? Well, we have friends who have used Oolong tea to make Orange and Oolong cakes, but not being that talented, we thought we would opt for a very healthy Peach Oolong Tea Porridge.
This won't be the longest Recipe in the world... It's porridge after all!
What you need:
Peach Oolong Tea Leaves - New or old, it does not matter, but this is a good recipe to use up old tea leaves.
Saucepan - a good, solid saucepan into which to make the Peach Oolong Tea Porridge.
Milk - optional, you can go dairy-free or use a plant-based milk.
Making Peach Oolong Tea Porridge
This is really quite easy! First, place half a pint of water in the saucepan and put in the Peach Oolong Tea. I boiled this off for about four minutes, then added about the same amount of milk.
Let this mixture boil for a few minutes. I then removed the tea leaves from the water/milk mix.

Add in a few cups of Porridge Oats and stir until the Porridge reaches your desired consistency.
You can add a sweetener, fruit or whatever you please. One nice idea is Venezuelan Black, 100% Caranero cacao, from Willie's Cacao, it does not have added sugar, but it will complement the Oolong and add depth.
Remember, once this sits for a few minutes, the oats will soak up more of the liquid, so you don't want to go too dry, unless that's what you are after!
And, there you have it. Really, simple, you can dress with fruit or nuts to suit.
