These Tea Oranges have become incredibly popular, and once you try one, it’s easy to understand why.

Puer Tea Oranges bring together deep, earthy tea and bright citrus in the most satisfying way. Each one starts as a young green tangerine (xiao qing gan) that’s carefully hollowed out by hand, then gently packed with aged ripe (shu) Puer tea and left to sun-dry whole. It’s a simple, traditional process, but the magic really happens over time.

After the tea is sealed inside the peel, the little oranges are left to mature for eight years. Like fine wine, Puer develops beautifully with age, becoming smoother, richer and more rounded. During this time, the tea and citrus slowly influence each other, creating layers of flavour that feel both comforting and complex. 

As the tea ages inside the peel, it gradually absorbs the fragrant citrus oils and natural zest of the fruit. When brewed, the result is wonderfully smooth and mellow, with the deep earthiness of Puer lifted by a gentle, refreshing citrus brightness. It’s the kind of tea that feels soothing and grounding, perfect after a meal or as part of a quiet evening ritual.

The Puer tea itself comes from Yunnan Province in southwest China, the historic home of Puer tea and a region known for producing some of the world’s most treasured aged teas.
