Taiping Houkui – Emperor’s Orchid Leaf Tea
Type: Green Tea | Origin: Huangshan, Anhui Province, China | Style: Loose Leaf
Description:
Discover Tai Ping Hou Kui – One of China’s Most Celebrated Green Teas.
Step into the world of Tai Ping Hou Kui, one of China’s Ten Famous Teas, cherished for its bold, flat-leaf appearance, delicate floral aroma, and smooth, mellow flavour. Grown in the mist-covered highlands of Mount Huangshan in Tai Ping County, this exceptional Chinese green tea is crafted using time-honoured techniques passed down through generations.
Our AAA-grade Tai Ping Hou Kui is harvested by hand each spring on Gu Yu Day, the traditional date that signals the peak of tea leaf quality. Only the most tender, high-grade leaves are selected, each measuring over 15 cm in length and chosen for their perfect uniformity. The leaves are then expertly bundled using cotton thread, preserving their signature form.
Each leaf is gently pressed and sun-dried, giving the tea its distinctive flat, orchid-like shape while maintaining its fresh, vegetal character. Upon steeping, the leaves unfurl slowly, revealing a light jade liquor with graceful notes of orchid, bamboo, and sweet chestnut.
With minimal leaf breakage and exceptional consistency, this premium green tea delivers not only a visual spectacle but also a refined, refreshing cup that reflects the purity, elegance, and tradition of authentic Chinese tea craftsmanship.
